Supported content types and limitations
The table below shows the supported content types for the contentType parameter as mentioned in the “Send one or more messages” and “Upload media file for One API” sections of the API Reference page.
Size limitations are also indicated in each case. Please note that the size limitation with the lowest value between the WhatsApp size limit and the applicable Clickatell API will apply. For example, the maximum allowed limit for an image is 5MB as this is the lowest value (see table below). WhatsApp will not accept any image above a 5MB size even though the Clickatell API can accept a larger media/template media message request.
Note: WhatsApp (on inbound (MO) message) can at any time implement any new supported content types or codes – the customer would need to dynamically handle this.
